什麼是老師?( WHAT IS A TEACHER? )

什麼是老師?( WHAT IS A TEACHER? )

  • 老師是沒有二元對立(without duality)的神性載體(vehicle of Divinity)
不以「看起來很普通(normal)」來迎合世俗(appeal to the earth)。
  • 以優雅(grace)與慈悲(compassion)回應責任(the call of duty)。

(White Tantric Yoga)

Yogi Bhajan

    「Stop(停止)。」

(WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE A TEACHER)
WHAT IS A TEACHER?
From the very beginning of his work in the United States in January of 1969, Yogi Bhajan stated clearly his goal was to train Teachers, not to gather disciples. In July, 1996, during an unforgettable teacher training course in Española, called, and rightfully so, The Master's Touch, Yogi Bhajan gave us an in-depth experience of what a teacher is! Many of us felt as if we were doing White Tantric Yoga 18 hours a day every day of those transformational 14 days! H also made it very clear what is expected of a real Kundalini Yoga teacher. Here are some quotes from his remarkable lectures.

* A teacher gives you experience, a preacher gives you philosophy.
* A teacher is the personal honor of God Himself.
* You can learn from a teacher by questioning, or you can learn from a teacher by blessing.
* A teacher is an institution, not an individual.A teacher gives you experience.
* A teacher is an institution for help, service, raising people's consciousness.
* A teacher is a vehicle of Divinity without duality.
* A teacher must go through calamity with a radiant smile.
* Deals with another person with a humble imperial majesty.
* Appears in utmost grace. Doesn't look "normal" to appeal to the earth.
* Be straight, talk straight, live straight.
* Teacher must have width of heart and deep understanding.
* Answer the call of duty with grace and compassion.
* Serve all and all shall serve you.
* As a teacher you must look smart, be smart, talk straight, never be right or wrong, always be neutral. Speak through your neutral mind.
* When confronted by negativity, take altitude, then change attitude.

WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE A TEACH
October 1, 1996, Yogi Bhajan
You know, this teacher business, "guru" business which you think, "Oh my God, how I have to surrender to somebody." It's not true. You should not surrender to anybody. But aren't you that unfortunate that you have not one person who can tell you in your life, "Stop!" Are you worse than the road? When there are two roads meeting or parting, there's a sign called, "Stop." And you stop. You look left, you look right, you look forward, you look in the mirror backward, and then you go. Why do you do that? Because that guarantees your safety. There has to be in a life, a person or a commitment or a thought or self discipline - where you can stop. You can buy the best car in the world, but if it doesn't have brakes, you cannot ride in it.
