Salok: 


aad sach jugaad sachTrue in the beginning, True throughout the ages,

最初始是真實的,經過歷代是真實的,

 

hai bhe sach naanak Hosee bhe sach ||1||True here and now. O Nanak, He shall forever be True. ||1||

此時此刻是真實的。噢!那納克,祂將永遠是真實的。



Asatpadee.


charan sat sat parsanhaar.His Lotus Feet are True, and True are those who touch Them

祂的蓮花足,是真實的,那些碰觸祂蓮足的人,就是真實的。


poojaa sat sat sayvdaar.His devotional worship is True, and True are those who worship Him.

祂的奉獻敬拜,是真實的,奉獻敬拜祂的人,就是真實的。


darsan sat sat paykhanhaar.The Blessing of His Vision is True, and True are those who behold it.

祂撇見視界的祝福,是真實的,那些看見祂的人,就是真實的。


naam sat sat Dhi-aavanhaar.His Naam is True, and True are those who meditate on it.

祂的 Naam 是真實的,而那些冥想祂的人,是真實的。


aap sat sat sabh Dhaaree.He Himself is True, and True is all that He sustains.

祂自己是真實的,而祂所維持的一切,都是真實的。


aapay gun aapay gunkaaree.He Himself is virtuous goodness, and He Himself is the Bestower of virtue.

祂自己是有德行的善,祂自己是美德的施恩者。


sabad sat sat parabh baktaa.The Word of His Shabad is True, and True are those who speak of God.

祂的消除假我 Shabd 的話語,是真實的,而那些談論神的人,是真實的。


surat sat sat jas suntaa.Those ears are True, and True are those who listen to His Praises.

那些耳朵是真實的,而那些聆聽讚頌祂的人,是真實的。


bujhanhaar ka-o sat sabh ho-ay.All is True to one who understands.

對明白的人,一切都是真實的。


naanak sat sat parabh so-ay. O Nanak, True, True is He, the Lord God. ||1||

噢!那納克,真實,真實就是祂,祂就是上主。


sat saroop ridai jin maani-aa.One who believes in the Embodiment of Truth with all his heart

相信真實顯化的人,擁有祂的全心全意。


karan karaavan tin mool pachhaani-aa.recognizes the Cause of causes as the Root of all.

辨認出原因的原因,是一切的根源。


jaa kai ridai bisvaas parabh aa-i-aa.One whose heart is filled with faith in God

心中充滿,對神信仰的人,


tat gi-aan tis man paragtaa-i-aa.- the essence of spiritual wisdom is revealed to his mind.

靈性智慧的本質,在他的心智中顯露出來。


bhai tay nirbha-o ho-ay basaanaa.Coming out of fear, he comes to live without fear.

從恐懼中走出來,他開始沒有恐懼地生活。


jis tay upji-aa tis maahi samaanaa.He is absorbed into the One, from whom he originated.

他被吸收到合一之中,那個他起源的地方


basat maahi lay basat gadaa-ee.When something blends with its own,

當某物與其自身融合時,


taa ka-o bhinn na kahnaa jaa-eeit cannot be said to be separate from it.

就不能說,是分離的。


boojhai boojhanhaar bibayk.This is understood only by one of discerning understanding.

這只能由有洞察力的理解者,去理解。


naaraa-in milay naanak ayk. Meeting with the Lord, O Nanak, he becomes one with Him. ||2||

與主相遇,噢!那納克,他與祂合而為一。


thaakur kaa sayvak aagi-aakaaree.The servant is obedient to his Lord and Master

僕人服從他的上主和大師。


thaakur kaa sayvak sadaa poojaaree.The servant worships his Lord and Master forever.

僕人永遠敬拜他的上主和大師。


thaakur kay sayvak kai man parteet.The servant of the Lord Master has faith in his mind.

上主大師的僕人,心中有信心。


thaakur kay sayvak kee nirmal reet.The servant of the Lord Master lives a pure lifestyle.

上主大師的僕人,過著純潔的生活。


thaakur ka-o sayvak jaanai sang.The servant of the Lord Master knows that the Lord is with him

上主大師的僕人知道,主與他同在。


parabh kaa sayvak naam kai rang.God's servant is attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

神的僕人與 Naam 調頻,就是上主的名字。


sayvak ka-o parabh paalanhaaraa.God is the Cherisher of His servant.

神是祂的僕人的珍惜者。


sayvak kee raakhai nirankaaraa.The Formless Lord preserves His servant.

無形無相之上主,保護祂的僕人。


so sayvak jis da-i-aa parabh Dhaarai.Unto His servant, God bestows His Mercy

對於祂的僕人,神賜予祂的慈悲。


naanak so sayvak saas saas samaarai. O Nanak, that servant remembers Him with each and every breath. ||3||

噢!那納克,那個僕人,每一次呼吸都記得祂。


apunay jan kaa pardaa dhaakaiHe covers the faults of His servant.

祂承擔起,祂僕人的過錯。


apnay sayvak kee sarpar raakhaiHe surely preserves the honor of His servant.

祂肯定會維護,祂僕人的榮譽。


apnay daas ka-o day-ay vadaa-eeHe blesses His slave with greatness.

祂以偉大,祝福祂的奴隸。


apnay sayvak ka-o naam japaa-eeHe inspires His servant to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

祂激勵祂的僕人,唱誦 Naam,上主的名字。


apnay sayvak kee aap pat raakhaiHe Himself preserves the honor of His servant.

祂親自維護,祂僕人的尊榮。


taa kee gat mit ko-ay na laakhaiNo one knows His state and extent.

沒有人知道祂的狀態和範圍。


parabh kay sayvak ka-o ko na pahoochaiNo one is equal to the servant of God.

沒有人能與神的僕人平等。


parabh kay sayvak ooch tay oochayThe servant of God is the highest of the high

神的僕人,是至高者中的至高者。


jo parabh apnee sayvaa laa-i-aaOne whom God applies to His own service, O Nanak

神運用著祂自己服務的那個合一,噢!那納克


naanak so sayvak dah dis paragtaa-i-aa ||4||- that servant is famous in the ten directions. ||4||

— 那個僕人,名揚十方。 ||4||


neekee keeree meh kal raakhaiHe infuses His Power into the tiny ant;

祂將祂的力量,注入那隻小螞蟻;


bhasam karai laskar kot laakhaiit can then reduce the armies of millions to ashes

然後它可以將數百萬人的軍隊,化為灰燼。


jis kaa saas na kaadhat aapThose whose breath of life He Himself does not take away

那些祂自己沒有奪去生命氣息的人,


taa ka-o raakhat  kar haath- He preserves them, and holds out His Hands to protect them.

— 祂保護他們,伸出雙手保護他們。


maanas jatan karat baho bhaatYou may make all sorts of efforts,

你可以做出各種努力,


tis kay kartab birthay jaat.but these attempts are in vain

但這些嘗試,都是徒勞的。


maarai na raakhai avar na ko-ayNo one else can kill or preserve

沒有其他人,可以殺死或保存誰。


sarab jee-aa kaa raakhaa so-ay- He is the Protector of all beings.

— 祂是眾生的保護者。


kaahay soch karahi ray paraaneeSo why are you so anxious, O mortal?

那麼你為什麼如此焦慮,噢凡人?


jap naanak parabh alakh vidaanee ||5||Meditate, O Nanak, on God, the invisible, the wonderful! ||5||

冥想吧,噢!那納克,神,那不可見的,奇妙的! ||5||


baaraN baar baar parabh japee-ai.Time after time, again and again, meditate on God.

一次又一次,一再又一再地冥想著神。


pee amrit ih man tan Dharpee-aiDrinking in this Nectar, this mind and body are satisfied.

喝下這甘露,這身心都得到滿足。


naam Ratan jin gurmukh paa-i-aaThe jewel of the Naam is obtained by the Gurmukhs;

Naam 的寶石,由古魯穆克( 跟隨古魯上師的人 )獲得;


tis kichh avar naahee daristaa-i-aathey see no other than God.

他們看到的只有神。


naam Dhan naamo roop rang.Unto them, the Naam is wealth, the Naam is beauty and delight

對他們來說,Naam 是財富,Naam 是美麗和喜悅


naamo sukh har naam kaa sangThe Naam is peace, the Lord's Name is their companion.

Naam 是和平,上主的名,是他們的伴侶。


naam ras jo jan tariptaanayThose who are satisfied by the essence of the Naam

滿足於 Naam 本質的人,


man tan naameh naam samaanay.- their minds and bodies are drenched with the Naam.

— 他們的思想和身體,都被 Naam 浸透了。


oothat baithat sovat naamWhile standing up, sitting down and sleeping, the Naam

在站立、坐下和睡覺時,都是 Naam


kaho naanak jan kai sadh kaam ||6||says Nanak, is forever the occupation of God's humble servant. ||6||

納那克說,神謙卑的僕人是永遠的工作。 ||6||


bolhu jas jihbaa din raatChant His Praises with your tongue, day and night

日夜用你的舌頭,誦念祂的讚美。


parabh apnai jan cineee daatGod Himself has given this gift to His servants.

神親自將這份禮物,賜給了祂的僕人。


karahi bhagat aatam kai chaa-ayPerforming devotional worship with heart-felt love

用真心的愛,進行虔誠的敬拜,


parabh apnay si-o raheh samaa-aythey remain absorbed in God Himself

他們仍然專注於,吸收到神自己裡面。


jo ho-aa hovat so jaanaiThey know the past and the present.

他們知道過去和現在。


parabh apnay kaa hukam pachhaanaiThey recognize God's Own Command.

他們辨認出,神自己的命令。


tis kee mahimaa ka-un bakhaana-oWho can describe His Glory?

誰能形容祂的光輝榮耀?


tis kaa gun kahi ayk na jaan-oI cannot describe even one of His virtuous qualities.

我甚至無法描述,祂的美德任何之一。


aath pahar parabh baseh hajoorayThose who dwell in God's Presence, twenty-four hours a day

那些一天二十四小時,住在神臨在裡的人,


kaho naanak say-ee jan potay ||7||- says Nanak, they are the perfect persons. ||7||

— 那納克說,他們是完美的人。 ||7||


man mayray tin kee ot layhi.O my mind, seek their protection;

噢!我的心,尋求他們的保護;


man tan apnaa tin jan dehgive your mind and body to those humble beings.

把你的身心,交給那些謙卑的存在。


jin jan apnaa parabhoo pachhaataaThose humble beings who recognizes God

那些辨認出神,謙卑的人啊,


so jan sarab thok kaa daataa.are the givers of all things.

是萬物的給予者。


tis kee saran sarab sukh paavahiIn His Sanctuary, all comforts are obtained.

在祂的神聖庇護所裡,所有的舒適都得到了。


tis kai daras sabh paap mitaavehBy the Blessing of His Darshan, all sins are erased.

通過祂的達顯的祝福,所有的罪孽都被抹去了。


avar si-aanap saglee chhaadSo renounce all other clever devices

所以,放棄所有其他聰明的裝置吧,


tis jan kee too sayvaa laag.and enjoin yourself to the service of those servants.

並囑咐自己,為那些僕人服務。


aavan jaan na hovee tayraaYour comings and goings shall be ended.

你的來來去去就結束了。


naanak tis jan kay poojahu sad pairaa. ||8||17||  O Nanak, Worship the feet of Gods humble servant forever. 

噢!那納克,永遠崇敬神那謙卑僕人的足。
