This image and passage about the Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan was shared by Soorya Kaur on page 80-81 of her book YogiJi – The Light of Our Souls, written in 2005.

“In his heart, Yogiji never left India. He came to the United States to teach Kundalini Yoga, which had its nucleus, the teachings of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. He himself lived the Sikh Dharma, and became an inspiration to a whole legion of people in the western world, who embraced his teachings and the Sikh Religion. He never allowed himself to be called “Guru. With humility, he saw himself merely as a tool to spread the teachings of those higher than himself. The credit of bringing Sikhism to the west lies solely with Yogiji.

He made many, many Yatras (spiritual pilgrimages) to India where he came to rejuvenate himself in the land where the Gurus were born. Yogiji brought, with missionary zeal, large congregations who came to bow their heads at the Guru’s feet at the holiest shrine of the Sikhs, the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
